The best thing we can give each other as women and as humans is support. Here we will showcase community acts, events and businesses to support the women in our community. We at TSG! want to see all women succeed and feel supported in their ventures. We believe in networking and connecting with one another! What’s more powerful than women supporting women?

Pictured above, in honor of Black History Month is Madam C.J. Walker. Entrepreneur, philanthropist, and activist. An advocate of black women’s economic independence, she opened training programs in the “Walker System” for her national network of licensed sales agents who earned healthy commissions. Ultimately, Walker employed 40,000 African American women and men in the US, Central America, and the Caribbean. She also founded the National Negro Cosmetics Manufacturers Association in 1917. Madam C.J. Walker was a game changer and an inspiration to us all. 🖤

FITNESS

Growing up I was always a pretty active and social gal, but as the years went on I continued to build relationships. I wanted to share the positive light with others and spread the love I have for not only fitness, but our community. Helping women reach goals and gain confidence in themselves is something that literally makes my heart happy!!

In today’s world it is very challenging to believe in yourself and to love yourself. There’s tons of judgement, but if we all stick together I believe we can make a difference and empower each other. I wish I could help everyone know that we are all beautiful, we are all unique, and we all can do anything we set our minds to.

When I became a personal trainer I honestly just wanted to do it because I fell in love with fitness and I truly found myself through the process. I loved everything about it. I wanted to help others feel good about themselves not only physically but mentally as well.

Through exercise you learn so much about yourself! You realize how strong you are, you become addicted to feeling happy and healthier. It’s not about what you look like, but it’s about how you feel. There’s so much toxicity in the fitness industry and I think a lot of women compare themselves, which is by far the worse thing you can do.

Now that it’s been over 7 years being involved with fitness I have learned a lot. You have to quit being in competition with everyone else and work on yourself, your goals, and your dreams. At the end of the day, it’s about you and only you can control that. We are all different and have different goals. I love to help women know that you do not need to have a gym membership to be healthy or to reach your goals.

You can easily have a program to follow at home! You don’t need hours for a workout and you don’t need to do it 7 days a week either. All you need is at least 4 days a week for about 20-30 minutes. Everyone has time for that, trust me! I currently just write online programs and personalized programs for the gym and home. I have a lot of goals this year and my dream eventually is to train one on one in my own studio. 💕 I have had tons of support in the community and I am forever thankful for it. It’s not easy being a full time employee, wife, new mommy, and part time small business owner, but when you want something bad enough you will do whatever it is to get there.
